BRITISH BLIND AND SHUTTER ASSOCIATION
CODE OF PRACTICE
INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this Code of Practice is to provide members of the Association with practical guidelines with the aim of improving the quality of the service given by member companies to their customers. It represents a binding commitment on the part of each member of the BBSA to a high standard of quality, safety, integrity and reliability. In drawing up the Code of Practice, the Association has paid particular attention to recommendations as laid down by the Office of Fair Trading.
The Association, since its inception in 1919, has always actively encouraged the highest standards of product and workmanship combined with professional integrity of conduct and trading. The products manufactured and supplied by BBSA members include interior and exterior blinds, awnings, security grilles and shutters.
The Association would recommend most strongly to consumers that they only employ the services of reputable, well-established blind and shutter manufacturers - the Association places a very great emphasis on its membership selection procedure. Membership Selection Procedure
All applicants for membership must have been in the business of manufacturing blinds and/or shutters for a minimum of three years at the time of application during which time their trading practices should not have been inconsistent with the requirements of this Code.
